Samaya started with a moment that changed everything.

During my own wedding, I wore a saree shaper that was priced at almost ₹2000. But in the middle of the function, the stitches came apart. It was embarrassing and disappointing.

That moment made me realize something important — women were paying high prices for products that didn’t always deliver the quality they deserved.

So I decided to change that.

I started my first venture, Tharagai, along with a friend and launched high-quality saree shapers priced at just ₹599–₹699, making reliable shapewear accessible to more women.

But the journey did not go the way I expected.

Despite bringing the core idea and doing most of the work, I was eventually pushed out of my own brand and told that I was “just the model.”

My partner’s father asked me,
“What will you do now?”

My answer was simple.

“God is with me.”

With that belief, I decided to start again from zero.

That’s how Samaya was born — named with faith and devotion after Samayapuram Mariamman, the goddess who represents strength, protection, and resilience.

Starting from scratch was not easy. But slowly, Samaya began growing because of one simple reason — our customers trusted our quality.

As our products started going viral, our customers themselves began guiding the brand’s journey.

They asked for saree shapers suitable for baby showers.

Then they started asking for comfortable loungewear made with the same quality they loved.

Listening to them, we kept evolving.

Soon we introduced something unique — zipless maternity wear made with soft knitted fabric, designed to make feeding easier without uncomfortable zippers.

What started as a single idea slowly expanded into:

• Midi dresses
• Top & bottom sets
• T-shirts

Today, Samaya is proudly growing as one of India’s first zipless maternity wear brands.
